Utica, New York Civil War Token SIMPSON & LENNEBACKER
I've got a circulated token that's been struck 5 times while still in the die with a little rotation on the obverse each time. It's from Utica, New York. Name on the token is SIMPSON & LENNEBACKER and has a round saw blade as the design in the center of the token. The word SIMPSON is clear and some letters of LENNEBACKER are also clear. The Civil War Token Society had the token for a while and took several pictures at different angles and lightings. It's listed in the latest CIVIL WAR STORECARDS book on page 639 of the Possible Civil War Storecards section. I'm still not too sure why it's only listed as possible when it sure appears to be. Either way it's a rare token, only one known of this type and struck 5 times. The item "Utica, New York Civil War Token SIMPSON & LENNEBACKER" is in sale since Wednesday, February 6, 2019.
