You are purchasing an original sepia cabinet card photo. It is from New York City.
SUBJECT: A Union soldier poses in a photo studio in full uniform. He carefully holds what appears to be a gray overcoat with brass buttons. It obviously was from someone very special to him. It's possible this is a Confederate military coat. This image appears to be an enlarged photo from a CDV during the Civil War. This cabinet card appears to be from around 1875-80. So that means it was reprinted 10 to 15 years after the Civil War.
Or, he could have put on his old uniform to pose for the photo. He does look to be in his late 30s or early 40s. CAPTION: The photographer's mark says Fernando Cessaurl. SIZE: 6.5 by 4.25 inches.
