An original "Military Pass" issued at Nashville, Tennessee by command of General Robert S Granger Post Commander at Nashville, Dec 5, 1863 for Captain Augustus A Curtis, 136th New York, to pass through the Army lines to Chattanooga. Captain Curtiss of Genoa, New York rose from the ranks to Captain, G Company, 136th NY, serving at Gettysburg, the Chattanooga Campaign & the Atlanta Campaign- Curtiss was wounded at Peach Tree, Georgia losing his arm, and died in 1891 and is buried at Geneseo, Livingston County, New York. The 1pc ptd/ink pass is approx 8 x 3, and is ink signed by Asst Provost Marshal Francis Bryan in red ink. Age spots, edge wear, Overall VG. General Orders and other imprints.
