Scarce Civil War ear Surgical Saw by Wade & Ford N. For Operating on the Skull. This is an original and scarce Civil War era Surgical Saw made by Wade & Ford N. That was used for operations to the skull. The saw measures 6-1/2 long and the saw blade section is 1-7/8 wide and is in excellent condition. The handle is a black checkered handle. This instrument was used in trephine operation on the skull to reduce fractures of bones of the skull as referenced in Dr. Damanns book on Civil War Medical Instruments.
