Rebel of 61, as in Civil War 1861 Confederate Soldiers Memoirs 1899 Joseph Stonebraker. Company C, First Maryland Cavalry, Maryland Line, Army of Northern Virginia.

Do yourself a favor and do this rare book justice by taking a look and feel free to scrutinize all 12 pictures posted. Very interesting applied label from George Alfred Townsend after reading and review, with what appears to be a eventual forwarding to someone who's name I can't make out, but with what might be Joseph Stonebraker signature. It does have the full fold out genealogy page as shown in picture 12. Book title: A Rebel of'61. Overall nice condition, but it does have several impression type stamps from a previous owners library.

Genre: Civil War History, Washington County Maryland History. Synopsis: "A Rebel of'61" is the memoir of a young man from Funkstown, Maryland and his adventures as a Confederate cavalryman. It is also a rare, first-hand account of life in prewar Washington County, with many stories and remembrances about local places and events.

To be honest, I wasn't sure how to price this. It is an original 1899 issue, of which I could only find one other in existence. That one was last seen in 2016 when the owner attempted to sell it at Heritage Auctions in Texas. According to the Heritage website, it did not sell.

I can only guess that it didn't meet the reserve. This item is in the category "Books & Magazines\Antiquarian & Collectible". The seller is "those_were_good_old_days" and is located in this country: US.
