Pearson under pseudonym Brinsley Mathews describes the post Civil War Reconstruction period in Virginia and Alabama. Cover image very good, Cover whole, some signs of wear on spine.

Binding tight, pages whole, some foxing spots (see examples in photos) on a few pages, end papers and edges of text block. Not laying flat indicating book has not been read many times. A very readable antiquarian copy Very Good to Near Fine. Inscribed with what I believe is an Identifiable combatant original owner's name.
