For your consideration, some rare historical gems. Frank Leslie's Pictorial History of The War of 1861 Volumes I & II. Printed in Tall Folio Large Format Measuring Approx. 23 1/4" x 17 1/8" X 2. Extremely rare leather bound book documenting the events of the American Civil War in 1861 as it happened. This book features 400+ pages of lithographs, prints, maps, battle plans, hymns and various correspondences documenting the struggle that was the American Civil War. Includes information on various battles during the early American Civil War. The work is illustrated with engravings of the War and includes three-page fold-outs. Illustrations were made by Leslie and his artists on the battlefield during the American Civil War are well regarded for their historical value.

These books are in fair to good condition considering their age (see photographs). Pages include minor tears from page turning, as well as isolated foxing on many of the pages.

The leather binding is in relatively good condition compared to the few remaining examples out there. The pull out lithographs and maps are in great condition.
