1885 & 1886 1st Edition Two Volume Set. 1 and maps illustrations throughout both volumes. Grant was the commanding General during the American Civil War and 18th president of the United States. Green cloth boards feature gold gilt titling and illustration. Boards have varying degrees of shelf wear and surface flaws, including some spine edge fraying, small tears and corner/edge wear.

Boards have some pulling, exposing original string binding in vol. Previous owner name is stamped and written in various places throughout the books. Interior pages have some toning around text blocks.
