The book belonged to Sarah A. Baker of Earlville, Madison County, New York, a student of the State Normal School of Albany, NY. The Normal School, founded in 1844, became the College for Teachers in 1914, and finally the University at Albany in 1962. The book contains eighty-eight autographs (many with brief dedications, a few with drawings), collected between the end of 1865 and the beginning of 1866.
