This is a complete six month volume (July 6, 1861, to December 28, 1861) of the New York Illustrated News, the rare short-lived competitor to Harpers Weekly and Frank Leslies illustrated Newspaper. Binding poor, lacking spine, boards detached.

Contents G/VG, with toning, foxing, light wear, and some marginal stains. The first issue and several of the doublespreads have long tears, without loss. Shadows cast on the two doublespreads pictured are not on the images.

Some issues (infuriatingly enough) featured two doublespreads, one of which is almost always found bound through. This means one page of the doublespread appears early in the issue and the other page appears later.

Nast worked for the magazine throughout this period. We do not offer other mailing options for international buyers.
