The following item is an authentic 20 lb. Parrott Shell fragment recovered near Culp's Hill on The Gettysburg Battlefield. It is in solid relic condition and is about 4 1/2 inches long and weighs just under 2 lbs. What is remarkable about this fragment is that it can be identified to the battery that fired it.
This shell was fired by Taft's 5th New York Independent Battery at The Battle of Gettysburg. They were positioned along Cemetery Hill just across from The National Cemetery.
