Please read this listing carefully AND review the many high resolution photos. New York: The Macmillan Company 1936 First Edition, second November printing (25th). A tight clean copy of the second November 1936 printing of the first edition (25th printing) with remnants of the original dust jacket over a clean & complete facsimile (reproduction) of the original dust jacket. Binding very sound, hinges unbroken. Original publisher's gray cloth, some soiling & marks to both covers and heavier smudges & abrasions/indentations along top edge.

Spine very good, slightly sunned with moderate rubbing and wear to spine tips. Original endpapers, toned with a few smudges along the edges but clean with no writing & no bookplates (uncommon as such). Contents lightly toned as usual but very little marginal spotting, generally very clean and bright. The volume is presented in a new facsimile (reproduction) dust jacket, protected in a removable mylar sleeve which also houses the front panel AND the rear inner flap of the original dust jacket, what remains of it (see photos). An unusually clean and presentable example the second Nov 1936 printing.
