December 5, 1863 issue of Frank Leslie's Illustrated Newspaper, with an article containing the full text of Lincoln's iconic Gettysburg Address. Illustrations include a centerfold spread with the formal dedication ceremony featured, and smaller views of Union and rebel graves, defensive works, Meade' s headquarters, and a view of the town. The front cover is dominated by a large illustration of â The War in Tennessee's Lookout Mountain and Its vicinity. A report of the Gettysburg Cemetery dedication appears on page 11 with the full text of Lincoln's speech.
General wear and light age toning throughout. The front and rear covers have heavier toning. The cover has a diagonal soft crease that can be flattened out and a 2/3 page closed separation along the spine that can be easily repaired with archival document mending tape. This is an original issue that I personally removed from an original 1863 bound volume of Frank Leslie's Illustrated Newspaper. There are two established dealers with online listings offering this issue for sale at nearly twice the asking price offered here.
BUT DON'T LIKE THE PRICE? HOW MUCH DO YOU WANT TO PAY?
