Velvet Hardee Hat Insignia with gold Embroidered Eagle - Identified to Major James Raney, 36th NY Infantry. Embroidered eagle is 3 1/8 x 2 1/4 inches. Embroidered gold Infantry horn with a metal "36" measures 3 1/2 x 2 1/2 inches. The signed CDV of Major Raney is in the New York State Military Museum Collection, photo number 1353/377.
