CIVIL War Campaigns Of The 146th Regiment Ny Volunteers Brainard 1915 1st Foldin
CIVIL WAR CAMPAIGNS OF THE 146. REGIMENT NY VOLUNTEERS BRAINARD 1915 1. As noted in the opening lines of the Introduction to this book, the author wrote this book in the early days of World War I because she was reminded of the pain and suffering of the Civil War during her childhood. This medium-sized hard cover book (6 ¼ x 9 ¼ inches, 541 pages) was published by G. The book is bound in handsome dark blue boards with gilt titles on cover and spine. The top edge of the pages is gilt. Please see the photos of the Table of Contents and the List of Illustrations for your further information. There are 56 illustrations in the book, some of which are tissue guarded and two fold-out maps at the rear. This book is in very good condition. The hard covers are clean and bright and handsome, with just one tiny white speck on the front cover. There has been some minor bumping to the corners and spine tips. Inside, there is a inked Christmas gift inscription from relatives of the Author to the former owner but these are the only marks I found in the book. The presence of so many illustrations, many on glossy paper has led to a certain degree of toning or foxing to pages adjacent to the plates, but nothing too serious or which obscures the text in any way. There is a tiny tear where the second map attaches to the book, easily fixed.
Both hinges are fully intact and the binding is tight, sound and square. This book is not ex-library or a remainder. Please consider "book-marking" my site so you can easily return to a constantly changing inventory of other truly vintage books and/or collectible works. Please also be aware that all my current listings are "spring-summer-fall season" listings held here in New York State. Once the snows start again and it gets cold, I will hightail it to Florida, ending these listings and reverting to another catalogue of different books held there.
