A nice early-war CDV image featuring an outdoor view of two officers in camp with a third soldier standing guard. Judging by the style of the guards uniform, I believe these must be men of one of the early New York State Militia regiments, such as the 7th, 8th, or 13th NYSM.

The officers are posed with the regiments national colors in front of a large wall tent. One is seated cradling the pommel of his M1850 foot officers sword in his hands. The other stands next to the flag, likewise with a hand on his sword. The guard standing to the right is distinguished by his gray uniform, consisting of a short jacket and baggy trousers with wide black trim and black leather accoutrements.

Close examination of the scans reveals that there are words printed at the top of the entrance to the tent, but I couldnt make them out. On the reverse is the backmark of Rockwood & Co.
