For sale is a copy of full leather cover antique civil war era American family HOLY BIBLE in excellent binding condition. The copy features tolled leather cover with intricate designs. It is printed in the year 1868 by the American Bible Society located in New York. The family record page as well as various included ephemerals indicate that this Bible was kept in the Horr family for a long time.

The book is very large and heavy. It measures 14" by 11" for the cover size, roughly 4 thick.

The Bible is in great antique condition. The front and back cover are both full leather and in good shape common age related sign of rubbing is present. The binding and leather cover is tight.

Both hinges where covers meet the spine are in excellent condition. The leather is still supple and flexible. Such an excellent preservation state is rare to find for Bibles of this age.

There are some foxing, yellowing, staining in this copy, but relatively clean and undamaged by water or dampness. Please check all photos for detailed condition. All in all, this is a rare well preserved 1800s American family religious text ready to be added to your antique bible collection.
