Published in 1887 by the Century Company (New York, NY), this 4 Volume set is a stunning collection of the events surrounding the Civil War including battles, biographies, politics, leaders, etc... With chapters written by a number of military figures and writers. Each volume contains more than 50 maps with more than 40 artists and 50 engravers, including many of the most famous Civil Wat artists.

It is a complete set and the inside is exceptionally clean. As photo #4 indicates, there is some cracking between paper and spine and while that exists in Volume 1 and 4, it does not exist in volumes 2 and 3. That stated, the construction of the book would likely lend itself out to this issue going forward, unless handled especially gently.

Simply, these are large heavy books and lend themselves out to damage. That stated, they are in remarkable shape for their age. More than 3,100 pages in total for the four volumes. A tremendous lot for any Civil War buff or historian.
