A HISTORY OF THE 117. Regimental histories from the time of the Civil War are highly prized and hard to find. I was only able to find one extant copy online of this one. Please find: A History of the One Hundred and Seventeenth Regiment, N. Volunteers (Fourth Oneida), by J.The subtitle reads: From the Date of its Organization August 1862 till that of its Muster Out, June 1865. The book is bound in brown, blind-stamped paper covered boards with once gilt titles on the spine. Please see the photos of the Table of Contents for your further information. There are no illustrations in the book. This book is in very good condition, quite surprising for its age and inherent make-up! The hard covers are a bit dust-dulled and sunned but nothing severe. There are a few smudges on the rear board, again nothing too serious.
The gilt titles on the spine are worn but still legible. Inside, amazingly enough, the book is unmarked and the pages are really without toning or foxing and show only light and random soiling.
Both hinges are intact and the binding is tight and sound. This book is not ex-library or a remainder.
