Original quarter black buckram spine with blue star printed pattern paper over boards, red morocco title label gilt. Limited Edition of 980, this numbered 621. Title printed in red and black, twenty-four initials in red, title page illustration, headpieces and tailpiece by Valenti Angelo. Hand-set in Type Goudy Modern, printed on Van Gelder hand-made watermarked paper by the Grabhorn Press. This was the first of a series of three books that the Grabhorn Press contracted to do for Random House during the year of 1931.

However, only The Red Badge of Courage was completed. One of 980 copies, this copy out of series. A slight touch of offsetting from a few of the vignettes; otherwise, a fine copy. Previous owners name in script black ink on front end paper. Dimensions 13.25" x 8.75".
