First person biography of Admiral David Farragut, naval hero of the Civil War. Farragut participated in his first naval battle in the War of 1812 and is often remembered for his phrase Damn the torpedoes! Includes fold-out map of the Battle of Mobile Bay. The book itself is in good condition: the spine is a little loose and the gutters are cracked.

There is some foxing, especially at the front where there is shading from the inks. The illustrations are primarily of naval battles and a couple of portraits of Farragut.
