This rare post-Civil War Valentine from 1868 featuring a heartfelt poem. This came from a cache of historical documents from the Washington County, NY area. We've been told was sent to Major General Rogers, but it doesn't appear to be addressed to him anywhere specifically.

However, the poem does mention and exalt General JCR, and it also mentions Lawyer Rogers- so it does track, though is not guaranteed. Rogers briefly served in the 43rd New York as a captain of the company before on July 22, 1861, a meeting was held at Argyle, New York to form a regiment which would later become the 123rd New York Infantry Regiment upon its inception on September 4, 1862. Argyle NY is in Washington County. The intricate design of this document make it a highly sought-after piece for collectors of historical paper items.

Don't miss the opportunity to own this piece of history. All ephemera has wear commensurate to age, including, potentially: nicks, folds, smudges, rips at edges, stains, old smells, minor rips, small holes, and other imperfections. You get what you see.
