The leather shows some wear at hinges, edges, and corners. The outer and inner hinges are intact. The leather outer hinges are somewhat fragile and should be handled delicately.
All pages are bound and in very good condition without significant foxing. There are no dog-eared or torn pages. The pages are gilt edged, with an embossed pattern, on all three sides.The first blank page shows a penciled gift inscription, "A Merry Christmas, To Steve & Jenny, Dec'63", this being 1863. There are 466 printed pages including index and several illustrated plates by John Gilbert. The book measures 10 1/4 by 7 inches. It weighs about 4 1/4 pounds. Thank you for shopping with us.
