Of advertisment -- -- this was owned by a gentleman who was in the American Civil War - this is pure speculation but perhaps he carried this book during the conflict and the hole was from a small bullet or bit of shrapnel... Cover has edge wear/bumped corners and scratching especially on the back -- binding is a little shaken -- a few pages are loose -- title page has a rip / a few chips to the pages here and there.
