This brown leather with guilt lettering and trim, hard-cover book measures 5 1/2 by 3 1/2 inches. The front cover was personalized by the publisher, specifically for BRIGADIER GENERAL NELSON RANDALL, COM'G 8TH BRIGADE N.

I was able to find two other similar copies on line, but none having this personalized cover. One is at the West Point, NY.

Military Academy's Library and the other at the University of PA. S Van Pelt Library in Philadelphia. It is in very good condition, with very light foxing, a few cover rubs and some creased fold-out engravings. The first blank page has a hand written in pencil, dedication that is mostly illegible but does contain the name Fredonia, the name of the New York town in which this estate lot was from. There is no other handwriting throughout.

The binding is tight and sturdy and there are no tears, repairs or missing pages. Twelve highly detailed photos have been posted for further description.
