Signed "H & G Nash Utica", the pottery was operated by Henry and George Nash in Utica New York from about 1832 to 1837 or 1839. Sources differ on the exact year the mark was discontinued but it is a relatively short span which make the jugs that much harder to find. This salt glazed stoneware jug is about 13 tall. The cobalt decoration appears to be a bee or maybe a flower.It is a hand turned piece that is solid from top to bottom. Measures 12.5" tall, 10.25" wide at the rim and 6.5 at the base.
