HTF Regulation CIVIL WAR Federal TARRED KNAPSACK J & W Lyall NY Good Condition

  
We are offering for sale. A regulation Federal Civil War Tarred Knapsack, I got this from Bannermans store over 50 years ago. It is complete, and has been boxed out with a cardboard box ever since. I used it as a display many years ago. The straps are dry but playable and the top two that hold the blanket are split along with one small hanger in the back. I believe they could be glued so you could put a blanket on the top for display. All the straps are there, and just need to be treated with some leather conditioner.

The left shoulder strap is marked J & W Lyall New York who was the maker. The knapsack shows some wear, see pictures but for its age is in good shape. These are hard to find today, even though they were all over the place years ago. Many were destroyed on Bannermans island in a fire so they are tough to fine in good shape today.
