Henry H Hutchinson served with the Log Island Volunteers as private in Company A, known as "Beecher's Pets". On his death in 1889 his comrades of the First Long Island Volunteers Survivor's Association (67th NYV) created this handsome calligraphy memorial made with a nib pen and brush, grieving his loss and expressing sympathy to his family. The Calligraphy Memorial is approx 8 x 12.5, on double page tan heavy stock paper and is hand signed by his Company A comrades, William Reid and Joseph C Sealy as Association officers.
A beautiful and uncommon example of Civil War Veteran Calligraphy. The Memorial has age stains, minor edge wear and is in Overall VG Condition.
