Civil war token store card type from New York, New York, 630-AG 1do, NGC MS 65, copper nickel, struck over 1863 copper nickel Indian cent. The obverse shows a large set of balance scales in the center, with the merchant, John P. Gruber, above them, and New York, below them.

The reverse shows a small eagle in the center, with wings spread, sitting on two crossed branches. Above the eagle is Apoth. Weight, and below it is One Dram, and the date, 1864. The date of the host coin, 1863, is readable at about the 8:00 o'clock position, between the "J" in the merchant's name, and the "N" in the "NEW" of New York.

The word "OF" and some of the letters of "AMERICA" are discernible on the right side. Some the feather tips of the Indian's headdress are also visible. On the reverse, the host coin detail is visible if the die token is rotated approx. That brings the Indian cent shield to the top center, and the written "ONE CENT" , under and through the two crossed branches, and the small eagle. Some leaves of the wreath on the host coin can be seen near the borders.
