The obverse has some brown tone on the lower part, going to an old brass tone in the center area, and then to a lighter brass color upward and to the right. The brightest color is around the protected areas at the lettering.

The reverse is bright and lustrous in front of Liberty's face, a little less so behind the head with some toning, and uniform light old brass toning on the lower area. A thin crack is visible from the chin to the lower left rim.
