Original CDV of Captain Charles F. Promoted to Captain on November 26, 1861. Major in 1866 for gallant and meritorious services in the Civil War. CF Rudgers fought at the Battle of Fredericksburg, was captured, and sent to the notorious Confederate Libby prison.

CDV is about 4" x 2.25". Looks like it was neatly trimmed along the left edge.
