This is a Henry V. Allien Signed Brass Civil War era US Navy Officer's Sword Belt Buckle American. Civil War Era Henry V Allien & Co. Brass United States Navy Sword Belt buckle. There are no chips or cracks, no dings or dents, no major scratches, and no signs of repair.
The piece is comprised of a round buckle with an eagle sitting on an anchor above a stack of 6 cannonballs with a circle of 13 stars around it inside a rope and has oak leaves and acorns around the perimeter with wide loops on either side for the ceremonial sword belt. The buckle measures 2 7/8 inches wide including the ends (2 inches in diameter without the loops) by 2 inches. The buckle is signed Henry V. New York on the back (pictured).
