MITCHELL WAS A UNION SOLDIER ATTACHED TO THE 38th REGIMENT NEW JERSEY INFANTRY. CONDITION - LETTERS are in varying states of POOR Condition. Please see photos for best description.
LETTERS WERE PULLED FROM AN OLD WORN BOX FROM SHELVING IN BARN LOCATED IN SOUTHERN VIRGINIA. SOME CONTENTS OF LETTER INCLUDE TALKS OF FIRST BATTLE AT BULL RUN, MISSING SOLDIERS BY NAME, SEVERAL OFFICER NAMES, MEASEL OUTBREAK, LOSS OF FRIENDS.
