Aikens by Citizens of Waterloo N. Aikens was Captain in the Waterloo Wright Guards, Company C of the 33rd Infantry New York. Leather & Brass Scabbard Stamped Ames MFG.

Beautiful single piece brass guard. Sharkskin wrapped grip (no wire). 30 Single Edged Blade, etched on both sides. Ames mark engraved near ricasso. Scabbard is in two pieces, but is complete.

Great piece for your collection! Condition: Overall good condition for its age. The blade shows moderate scratching, mottling, and oxidation from age... The edge does not look abused.

The etching has faded and dulled, but can still be seen. The guard shows mild scratching and patina.

The grip is missing the wire wrap, and the sharkskin has separated. The original leather & Brass scabbard has separated into two pieces near the middle. The leather shows heavy wear from age.

The chape looks to have been reattached. Also, if you need the item faster we can work with you! Just give us a shout! Best Offers: We're always willing to try and work with our customers, so a lot of our items feature "make offer".
