This is the 1848, 60th edition of the New York American Bible Society bible. It is 7 inches long and 4 1/2 inches wide. The original owner's name -- Ann Newsom -- is inscribed in ink on the inside front page, dated October 9, 1948 in Keokuk, Iowa. This first page is loose.
It's the only loose page in the entire book. The book has pencil writing and drawing on the the inside cover and the next five pages. There is also writing in pen and pencil on the first two pages of the New Testament portion of the book.
This appears to be some type of family history with names and dates. The last 24 pages of the book have an ink stain. The book is just under 700 pages long. The binding is generally okay. The cover could possibly be leather.
There are at least six heirloom hair samples pressed between the pages of this bible, an one leaf or pedal presses in the book. There are no torn pages. At least one page has been dog-earred. Feel free to ask questions.
